Benefits of Massage

Many people may think that Massage is a luxury that people go to just for relaxation. There’s a lot more beneficial effects of massage that’s not widely known but here are some of the benefits that you should know:

1- Massage improves circulation- which helps in the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the cells and helps eliminate metabolic wastes. Increased circulation means greater nutrition and oxygen flow circulating in your body and drains toxins from the tissues. In Eastern Shiatsu massage, the Qi or Chi which is the energy stored in you is moved around to achieve balance where in some parts of your body may be deficient (Kyo) and in other parts may be energetically overactive (Jitsu). 2- Massage helps decrease pain and increase joint mobility- If you’ve ever had an injury from playing sports or maybe you were just walking and you tripped and sprained your ankle, there are massage techniques used to rehabilitate that injured muscle or ligament. 3- Massage helps to relax hypertonic muscles, reduces muscle spasms, and soothes the nervous system. 4- Massage can help decrease pain and discomfort in chronic conditions such as Plantarfascitis, Rotator Cuff injuries, Achilles Tendonitis, Low back pains, Carpal tunnel syndrome and other chronic inflammations. 5- Massage helps to improve athletic performance and helps in recovery after the sporting event. 6- Massage helps to improve postural or functional 1st degree imbalance. 7- Massage increases energy.

And there you have it. And yes, massage helps you to relax. It calms the mind which helps with insomnia, increases respiration, maintains health and overall well being.
